Durable, lightweight, fantastic
I bought this bag my last year in school and it was great for carrying books and notebooks, pens, water bottles, flashdrives, and all those other things students carry around.Then life got weird.Over the past two years this bag and I have been to sea. I've carried it across Europe. We've explored the caves and jungles of Cambodia, and rowed down the fjords of Denmark. This bag has become one of my most trusted possessions.When emptied it can be squeezed into a ball and tossed in a corner, or stuffed in a larger bag. It's roomy and comfortable, machine washable.My criticisms are few and forgivable but worth mentioning. The zipper on the inside pocket broke just a few short months after buying the bag and hasn't worked since. As one reviewer also mentioned, the forward metal loop (the loop that connects the strap to the bag where it hangs under your arm, depending on how you wear it) twists lenghtwise. Great bag!
I love this bag: I can't believe how much stuff you can fit in this! It is exceptionally well designed and can hold almost anything you need in order to serve faithfully as a sort of briefcase, which is how I use it. Great stitching, relatively lightweight, easy to lug around. For the price, I sincerely don't believe you could do better.

Good bag, just a few tweaks
I've had this bag for about three months now and pretty much adore it. I take it back and forth with me to work, it's a good size to hold snacks, purse, couple packets of paper, and the front pockets work well for my cell phone and chargers. I even keep my keys in the side pockets.A few things I'd change, though. It's completely open, so I'm glad I don't travel by foot or bus or somewhere crowded where someone could just reach in and pull things out. And the one side of the handle likes to twist the bracket holding it to the bag, I'm afraid the metal is going to bend at some point and open so that I'd have to find a new bracket. Oddly, just the one side does that.

Great (little) vintage canvas bag
The hot issue with this canvas bag seems to be size. I don't have any measuring tape on me, but from rough estimate 12x9(or10)x5. It's small. I'd compare it to the small dickies messenger bags also found on amazon. The one major plus of this bag is it's thickness. Mine usually has three or four thin traveling books, two steno pads, and one fairly thick book on Emily Dickenson. And still have room in the main compartment for misc thumbdrives, mp3 player, and blackberry. I have one of the dickies bags, and i could barely fit a couple steno pads before the thing appeared overfilled. It's perfect for daily use, if you don't carry a laptop or full size note pad. The construction has kept up with a couple months of hard abusive daily carrying and commuting.I suppose all the previous negetive reviews came from people expecting something bigger. It's definately small, but some how fits a lot of what I need day to day without resorting to a cumbersome full-sized messenger bag. The...

Worth Every Nickel
It's a shame that the critical reviewers were commenting on a listing error in the bag dimensions rather than the bag itself -- which totally rocks. For $8 or so you can do a lot worse for a handy little day pack type shoulder bag you can throw a sketchbook, a couple of pens, an iPod, cell phone and wallet into and hit the galleries. The bags were meant for carrying ammunition in Iraq while being shot at so it's a fairly sturdy canvas construction with a nice tongue close hitch to keep the flap down & the weather out of your stuff.I wish there were internal pockets or maybe an extra zippered pouch, but it serves the purpose of an inexpensive little personal carrying solution when you don't need a whole backpack but would rather not stuff your pockets like some kind of a dork. It's got a cool urban military jib to it's cut too that's something more interesting than an anonymous Office Max commuter bag, which is what I was replacing. Great quailty bag!
I have been using this bag for school since the begining of August. It's my senior year and I have a heavy load of classes, most of them are honors classes too. This bag holds my huge Literature book, my French book, and whatever novels i'm reading along with two bottles of water, and a couple of snacks to munch on during the day (since I have lunch at the last part of the day.) This bag is so durrable! Nothing has wore out yet on the bag either. The front pocket is perfect to fit highlighters, and some pens in but the pencils will slide right out if you're not careful (i've lost a dozen penicls from doing that...) I even have this bag to carry my dance thigns around with me! So Ballet slippers, a pair of tights, a leotard, a shirt, shorts/skirt, Lyrical shoes, water, my Ballet dictionary, and whattever else I need. Excellent Bag
I have used this bag from everything from carrying books to making sure that I have the things I need as a move around town. I always have something stashed in it for those long waits and I am able to organize and protect documents inside of it. The only thing I would do differently next time is to get a leather one for the form factor.

Great buy
I'm just so glad to finally have a messenger bag to carry around. The material is a little stretchy, so it doesn't hold it's shape as well as you would think, but as long as you have something hard like a large book or a laptop inside, it's all fine. The shoulder pad is great. I can fit my laptop/laptop case, a few books, all my notebooks, my wallet, and my sketchbook in the center 3 pockets. The little nitbits of things like pens/pencils/computer mouse/phone all fit into the smaller pocket.It shipped fast - within a week, I think.

Almost Perfect
On a quest for the perfect bag for my 2011 Macbook Pro 15" See my other reviewsThis a minimalistic case, not for pack rats!- If you carry your power adapter with you, it's going to be a tight fit.+ iPad 2 : Has compartment for a naked Ipad 2. If you use a case/sleeve, you can fit it in front of the dedicated pocket.+ Good padding around, except for the very bottom. I would cut a small piece of foam, or neoprene from one of your old cases and put at the very bottom. If I dropped the bag and it landed in the same orientation as you would set it down, I'd be slightly worried. That being said, it is one one of the better cases I've looked at recently.+ Fits the MBPro 15" very nicely.- Won't fit the Macbook IF it is in a Lacie zipper-less sleeve. you can shove it in there, but will be turning the bag inside out to remove it. I like to use a sleeve plus the bag personally.-/+ you will get a magazine, or two in here, but not much...
