It is HUGH!
Ever read Harry Potter? Really, the bag is like Arthur Weasley's magically enlarged car trunk.It is just about as big as any other messenger bag looking from outside. But this is what I have in it today:- A 13' laptop, with a laptop sleeve- A hardcover textbook. Specifically it's Mussardo's Statistical Field Theory. Just think of it as that brick of a calculus textbook you had back in the frshman year.- Two 100-sheet spiral notebooks.- A Microsoft Arc mouse in the zipper pocket.- Pencil pouch, umbrella, etc.The materials seem sturdy, and it is overall well constructed. Simple, roomy, and sturdy. What else can you possibly want from a messenger bag? (No, none of them will do your math homework for you.)

Excellent for School
I was getting a new laptop and needed a larger messenger bag to carry around my high school. This was one of the larger options out there so I knew it would have room to carry around all of my large textbooks and binders plus my laptop around the school. I think it has worked out excellently, because the side pockets are very large and they fit a lot of stuff, plus the back pencil pocket. I like especially how there's a border around the top of the bag when you remove the flip over cover. I highly recommend this for someone who needs space for school. :)

For the price, this was a steal!
Considering the price of this bag, I was a bit iffy. It seemed a bit cheap for something that would be holding my heavy textbooks and the worst thing that could happen would be for it to split while I'm walking around campus.I've owned one for about 3months now and I'm considering getting another in a different color.It's got an adjustable shoulder strap. It doesn't really have a padded strap like some bags, but I've never found that it dug into me like some bags do, even when I'm carrying my heaviest books.It's a decent size. I usually just carry one book, binder, some pencils and a umbrella in it, but if I wanted to it could easily hold another book or two. I really only use the one giant bag portion but I believe it also has a smaller zipper portion perfect for wallets, mp3 players or pencils, as well as an outer pouch or two. The pain flap is magnetic buttoned closed but it stays shut.It's durable. I haven't seen any holes or tears...

So happy
I love this bag! Get one or two! lol The strap adjust very easily and still stays in place. You can load it full and abuse it and it still looks good. I hear " Where did you get that bag?" about once a week. The inside zip pocket holds quite a bit of stuff. The two side pockets are great, It even has a key hook. Great Deal !

Nice Bag
My bag just arrived today. I bought mine in the color black. I couldn't believe the amount of space inside this bag! The soft material is very lightweight which keeps the shoulder strap from tugging on my shoulder (Unlike my old messenger bag which was a thicker sturdy material but was really heavy on the shoulder, especially when carrying contents inside). The downside of this bag being lightweight material is that it doesn't stand up on it's own when you put it down. You have to lean it against something or lay it down. But who cares. It has two zipper compartments inside, one small and the other large. Also, it has slim cellphone/cigarette pockets ON BOTH ENDS OF THE BAG. Now that's cool. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Great (little) vintage canvas bag
The hot issue with this canvas bag seems to be size. I don't have any measuring tape on me, but from rough estimate 12x9(or10)x5. It's small. I'd compare it to the small dickies messenger bags also found on amazon. The one major plus of this bag is it's thickness. Mine usually has three or four thin traveling books, two steno pads, and one fairly thick book on Emily Dickenson. And still have room in the main compartment for misc thumbdrives, mp3 player, and blackberry. I have one of the dickies bags, and i could barely fit a couple steno pads before the thing appeared overfilled. It's perfect for daily use, if you don't carry a laptop or full size note pad. The construction has kept up with a couple months of hard abusive daily carrying and commuting.I suppose all the previous negetive reviews came from people expecting something bigger. It's definately small, but some how fits a lot of what I need day to day without resorting to a cumbersome full-sized messenger bag. The...

Worth Every Nickel
It's a shame that the critical reviewers were commenting on a listing error in the bag dimensions rather than the bag itself -- which totally rocks. For $8 or so you can do a lot worse for a handy little day pack type shoulder bag you can throw a sketchbook, a couple of pens, an iPod, cell phone and wallet into and hit the galleries. The bags were meant for carrying ammunition in Iraq while being shot at so it's a fairly sturdy canvas construction with a nice tongue close hitch to keep the flap down & the weather out of your stuff.I wish there were internal pockets or maybe an extra zippered pouch, but it serves the purpose of an inexpensive little personal carrying solution when you don't need a whole backpack but would rather not stuff your pockets like some kind of a dork. It's got a cool urban military jib to it's cut too that's something more interesting than an anonymous Office Max commuter bag, which is what I was replacing.
