Versatile convertible backpack/tote. 2010 vs 2011, Amelia vs Juno
This is the perfect convertible tote, both for commuting, for travel and as a mom bag. The dimensions (14 x 15 x 6 = total linear dimension 36) are just close enough to be counted as your underseat bag/personal bag.There are a few major differences in the features in this bag. The style was changed (decrease in the number of exterior pockets) after the first launch of this bag (2010) and the newer colours (& basic black for 2011) all only have 1 front pocket instead of 3 front pockets.In the 2011 models there is a front horizontal pocket on the bottom half of the bag; it is a flat zippered pocket. The 2010 model has the same pocket configuration as the original discontinued version of this bag called the Juno bag; 1 large horizontal puff pocket along the bottom half, 1 horizontal flat pocket in front of that pocket that would fit #10 envelopes, and the third flat horizontal pocket (also sized for #10 envelopes) behind the handles.While the...

Not as good as original.
I was pleased to find this purse, since I had an older one like it on which the zipper broke. I really liked my first one. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the new version is made of cheaper materials throughout. It's still nice for what I want, but why couldn't they have continued with high quality materials that look better, too? I was able to unbuckle the heftier strap from my old purse and use it in place of the ribbon one supplied with the new one.

Great bag
This bag is well made of a very soft Italian leather, and the navy color is extremely versatile and essentially goes with everything. The interior lining is made from more of a polyester 'laminate' material (rather than fabric), so I'm guessing it will be easier to wipe out and maintain. Not sure if I was carrying a little too much, but it did start to hurt my shoulder slightly after a long day out. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and would buy another bag from Ellington.
