I bought my first Sproutman Hemp Sprout Bag at a health food store....it was the last one they had in stock. It works just like they say on the package info. I'm buying more so I can sprout different types of legumes and seeds at the same time. Some take longer to sprout than others. Once sprouts are done you can keep them in the sprout bag in the fridge, so it would be ideal to have 3-4 bags on hand. Top to learn more

Don't buy from FFL-Books
Don't buy these bags from a seller called FFL-Books. I ordered 3 bags and they charged shipping 3 times, instead of combining the order. And they consider these bags to be 6 pounds each!For the same dollar amount that FFL shipping cost, I ordered a set of 4 nut milk bags, that are great for sprouting but not hemp, from a different seller. Nice, sturdy sprouting bag
I bought a pair of these sprouting bags over five years ago, and have used them consistently across that time. I'm replacing them now because they've reached the natural end of their lives. :DI use the bags pretty much exclusively for grains (for sprouted bread) and legumes; leafy sprouts like alfalfa, due to their sprouting habit, do better in a rigid sprouter like the SproutMaster or Easy Sprout Sprouter (or heck, a mason jar...). The bags have done wonderfully, and held up very well for natural fibers; so long as I keep up my end of the bargain, and tend the contents as needed, I've never had a batch spoil or mold.I get as much as three cups of sprouted grain per bag, unlike another reviewer who felt the bags were small. Nutrition considerations if depend on large amounts of hemp
Despite claims to the contrary, hemp protein is not a complete protein. It is very weak in lysine, and doesn't have enough leucine and tryptophan. Because of this, if you eat it in large quantities, especially in a vegetarian diet, it cannot count gram for gram. That is not to say it is not a very positive element of a well balanced diet in reasonable diet proportions or when complementary proteins balance the weaknesses. One tip: Protein from almonds and almond milk are also just as incomplete in lysine.Hemp seed protein has all essential amino acids - just not in the optimal proportions. You'd be hard pressed to find any protein that was nearly devoid of even one of them (ok, gelatin is a rare contender). ... it is good to separate the hype in the marketing of nutritional supplements and then to enjoy it for what it offers ;-)According to the amino acid data Nutiva, this manufacturer of this natural hemp 50% protein powder, provides on THEIR website - put... does hemp protein ever go bad? maybe...
First off, i definitely like hemp protein. This is the third bag i've ordered through Amazon but the first from Amazon.com. Having said this I'm not as happy with this purchase as I have been in the past. I know it's supposed to have a shelf life of a year but I'm fairly convinced I must have gotten a stale batch. The smell put me off initially, and when I went to make a smoothie out of it I couldn't finish it at all. The first bag I ordered (through Amazon from a company called Raw Foods) came in vacuum sealed and that one was perfectly fine. The second and third one was loose. So based on my experiences I would say that freshness matters somewhat. I tried searching for other folks experience with hemp protein but it's basically impossible to find any more critical reviews of it - all I ever seem to get is how much better the stuff is than Whey protein for bodybuilding.Anyway I much prefer the taste of Nutiva Hemp Protein moreso than the Living Harvest brand, and I did... I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical about sprouting in a bag, however, after trying it out, I really liked it. You can sprout quite a few sprouts in there if you fill the bag up and it was easy. I just poured water in my catch bowl until the bag was covered and let it sit and then dumped it out and let the bag drain. The instructions for the bag say that to rinse you should immerse the bag in water for one minute then let it drain. An added benefit to the sprout bag is that it is easily portable if you’re planning a trip or a bug out and want to take some sprouting seeds along with you. One of the benefits of the sprout bag is that it drains really easily and you could just hang it somewhere over your sink or over a bowl and let it keep on draining. You don’t want to put them in with a really wet bag, so make sure you put the sprouts in for storage before rinsing them that last time. I did this twice a day and the bag would just be starting to dry out by the time I got to rinsing it. That is in super dry Utah winter weather. Eat your yummy sprouts, and if there are any left over, you can store them right in the bag in your refrigerator. To clean your bag you’ll just turn it inside out and rinse with hot water. The bag kept the humidity level for the sprouts just perfect.
