Not indestructible. But close.
Well, this part I already knew. The Timbuk2 bags are built to last. I shop consignment and see older models, used and often a bit beat up, still apparently fetching some sweet prices. (The Honda of messenger bags?) So I was eager to have the opportunity to check out the DLux, in person - it's lightweight, it's 100% synthetic (but no chemical plastic-y smell here), and it's certainly made to withstand the travails of a rainy/snowy/hot/humid commute by bike/car/subway/whatever.What it's *not*, is particularly compact or elegant. Having had a go with this one, I can attest to its strength and capacity -- and oh boy, it will hold the tablet, the kids' mini-computers (both of them) - a pair of shoes, the water bottle, the purse, my knitting, a binder...get the idea? By the time you fill it up, you're going to want that nifty memory cam adjust buckle that lets you put the bag over you cross body, then easily cinch it up under your arm for a secure fit. Best messenger bag I've used
Being a student who bikes to school, lugging a laptop and books is normally an enormous pain. The Timbuk2 D-Lux Messenger bag has been a life changer. Wow. I should have invested in a bag like this long ago, but better late than never! Here are some of my highlights:PROS:* Endless compartments. When I first received the bag, I thought it was like a magician's trick bag, because pockets seemingly kept appearing out of nowhere. Great for storing ... well, everything you own!* Ease of use. Load it up, snap it closed, hoist it around your torso, and off you go. Can't get much simpler than that!* Adjustable shoulder strap. Timbuk2 D-lux Laptop Messenger Bag (Black/Gunmetal)
The description of this product denotes it as medium, but to me it is quite large and that is a good thing. My 17.5 Acer Aspire laptop fits in this bag and so does my Motorola tablet. Don't stop there though, much more will fit in and be safe and secure.Opening the bag is easy and straight-forward enough. There are four zippered compartments for small items and I giggled with glee when I saw all these zippers. All my stuff will fit, I just know it. There is a sleeve for your laptop and is slightly cushioned. Also, there is a slightly cushioned compartment for your tablet. You have two means of access to the inside of the bag, go through the front or go through a zipper in the back. Genius! The bag is very sturdy and appears to be a good determent to soggy weather. It is very sharp in black and gunmetal, my favorite colors!I am very happy with this bag and highly recommend it.

Good protection for stroller.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this case is lightly padded and has convenient zippers. It also has a small outside zipper pocket. It didn't fit the stroller completely- but I was able to get it zipped up and closed. Maybe it's just me. It would be nice if the bag rolled up or there was some way to fold it up when not in use, but overall I am pleased with the quality and performance.

Good stroller protection
We just finished our sixth flight with this bag and it has always protected our Indie Bumbleride and the bag still looks like new. We've only checked it at the ticket counter so I imagine it takes a beating. I find it easy to put in and out of the bag and have never had a problem with it fitting in the bag. I watched a how-to video online and practiced at home the first time.It would be good to have more labeling that the bag contains a stroller but I do it myself using paper tape/marker. The price is a bit steep but it's worth the investment so you don't have to replace your stroller.

Fantastic commuter bag
This is my second Timbuk2 bag. I got the XS size first to just use it like a purse. I commute by bike to work about one day a week and the XS bag just wasn't big enough for a change of clothes and my lunch, etc. I debated getting a Large one but am so glad I went with Medium. It's huge! I'm only 5'1" so it looks a little ridiculous on me but I can ride my bike fine with it full of stuff. I think I will also use it as my luggage for trips occasionally. I got it in Silver/Lime-Aide/Lime-Aide color which is great for visibility on my bike (I don't trust the drivers in NM too much so I try to be as visible as possible). Timbuk2 bags are certainly expensive but worth it I think. They are quality bags and will last forever. I was also glad to find them on Amazon for much cheaper than the Timbuk2 website.

Practical, Stylish, Carry-Everything Bag
This bag arrived on my doorstep last week, and since then I have been carrying it to and from work every day. I was so happy I found this color in a size Small (it's sold out all over the internet and more expensive on the direct brand's website). I purchased this looking for a bag that would a) not ruin my back due the weight and b) fit my netbook and other graduate-school items such as textbooks, portable hard drive, etc. First of all, I can fit all of my textbooks, netbook, papers, cords, and other little things I used to keep in my purse, with enough room to shove my water bottle in on the side. When it rains, which it has several times this week, the water is completely repelled by the awesome "ballistic" material. When it stops raining, however, I can loosen both of the straps on the front flap and slide my umbrella perfectly along the bottom of the bag, pulling the straps a bit to make the fit tighter.With that said, I do think it's a slightly confusing bag! A Punk Life, Examined
Being a fan of the late seventies west coast punk scene, I ordered this book based on the author's history in the Bags, a band I had only heard of in relation to other bands of the time. I have to admit that I expected this book to be similar to other punk tomes I have read: either a sloppily written oral history or a breathless tell-all about the crazy punk days. What I got was so much more. Violence Girl is a universal coming of age story of a bright young artist who is struggling to come to terms with her identity as a daughter, a woman, a chicana...and how she finds her voice and sense of purpose through her incredible experiences. I was blown away. Certain scenes made me catch my breath with their ferocity and then I would turn the page and find such heartbreaking tenderness and forgiveness that I was moved to tears. NOT your average rock and roll fairytale, Violence Girl has many lessons to teach. In fact, I turned around and ordered books for my entire high school advanced...

I am a new Preschool teacher and I'm not too excited about Music and Movement. This CD is excellant for someone like me. The songs are fun and give easy directions for movement. Practical and fun for regualr and special needs students
I have used this music for many students int he past 10 years. I especially like to use it for students with motor skills difficulties. You hear the music and the instructions and then it is recorded without the instructions so that you can perform the activitiy as part of an assembly at school or perhaps at a parents night and have the instructions blarring. Special needs/EMH students REALLY enjoy the involvment and have a sense of belonging and peer-ship! The music sounds up to date and the instructions are easy to follow and not presented too quickly. There are many repetitions and the students are able to follow the simple activities. There is a leaflet included to show you the moves when the movement is not clear. This adds nicely to any PE program when the gym is not available and can be intergrated into your Music/Movement units as well.

pass the beanbag, please...
When I started teaching preschool in 1992, I had this on record. It is great that it is on CD now. I can't say that I use all of the songs, but I have literally worn out "Pass the Beanbag". I can remember numerous days when the playground was wet, too hot, or the kids where just acting wild- when I would put this song on."Pass the Beanbag" is kind of like Hot Potato. Any size group of children sit in a circle on the floor. When the music stops, the person holding the bean bag has won the game. I have had MARATHON listens to "Pass the Bean Bag, until EVERYONE in the class has won. It can really help kill time when you are waiting for kids to be picked up at the end of the day - an there isn't anything to clean up!
