Beautiful, surprisingly small bag
This is a beautiful bag, as is true with most Kenneth Cole products. It wears very comfortably over my shoulder and stays out of the way as I walk. The look is absolutely awesome. But I was shocked at the small size of the bag. There are some small inside pockets, but the pockets aren't always enough. Considering all of the electronics and accessories that we carry today, this bag may not offer all of the space you require. If you're traveling light, though, this is the bag for you.

I've been looking for a quality leather messenger bag for the past 6 months, and this bag fits the bill.I'm a visual person and so it was a big leap for me to buy this bag since there was only one picture of the bag. The bag strap is long enough to accommodate a big person, and at about 1.5 inches wide it doesn't get twisted up. The bag does not have a shoulder pad, which I initially thought would be a problem, because messenger bags that I've owned in the past that didn't have a pad had a tendency to dig into my shoulder. Much has been said about the quality of this bag in other reviews, so I won't get into that. However, there's a big error with this particular listing, and potential buyers should take note. The photograph for this listing is for an entirely different bag from David King & Co. If you go to the official David King website (ussuitcase.com), and look under "messengers", you'll notice that the photograph above (which looks medium/dark brown) is for the "Distressed North/South Messenger Bag" (SKU: 6111), dimensions 12.5" x 10.5" x 4" . However, the bag that you'll actually receive (which looks nearly black), should you order from this listing, is "Distressed Large, Full Flap Messenger" (SKU: 6153), dimensions 15.5" x 11.5" x 4". A great value!
I absolutely love this bag. It is constructed well, quite spacious, and really quite beautiful. It looks great but more importantly it serves my needs perfectly. As a graduate student I needed something to carry my laptop and documents in addition to the occasional textbook or two. This bag fits everything very well and has extra pockets in front to keep my pens, cards, cell phone and other small items organized. I love that I can carry it comfortably over my shoulder or just in hand like a briefcase. It is appropriate for business and teaching related endeavors in addition to everyday school related usage.Being genuine leather, I imagine some wear will be obvious over time but I happen to appreciate a worn appearance.I should note that as a female, the color and size of the bag (I have the tan version), comes across as professional but not masculine. Terrific Bag at a terrific price!
My wife bought this for me as a gift when I graduated from college and prepared to begin grad school. It is a great looking bag, with several compartments for papers, laptop, books, pens, Kindle, and phone. The front compartments are secured with two straps, while the rear compartment is easily accessible by lifting the flap. Expands to accommodate extra files, books, etc. The leather (mine is dark brown) is thick and sturdy, and will no doubt soften and become more supple with years of use. It has a brown web strap to sling it over your shoulder (My only wish is that the strap was leather, but it's a very minor complaint) but I have to say if the bag is loaded with books it is pretty hard on your shoulder/back; I prefer to carry it with the handle when it's stuffed full. I feel very professional when I carry this bag and have gotten numerous compliments on it. I expect it will provide many years of use as I become one of those "seasoned" educators I so admire.

Great purse
This bag was the right size and the right style that I wanted. The faux leather does not weather or get destroyed. It comes with two different shoulder straps that are both adjustable which is awesome!!! I definitely recommend this bag, just make sure you are okay with a little bag. The length of the bottom of the purse is about 11 inches and the height of the side of the purse is about 8 inches. So yes it is a small bag but such a great one!

Excellent Purchase!
I love this bag!As another reviewer said, it is VERY small. Do NOT expect to be able to carry anything larger than a pocket-sized notebook. However, I have been able to fit everything I like to carry (a red case of index cards, several pens, hand cream, a tin of Altoids, iPod, and cell phone, laptop charge-cord) with a little extra room for any little extras. The faux-leather is nice, not too shiny or fake-looking. The bag did carry a kind of plastic smell for the first day, but it wore off very quickly. With the shoulder strap the bag sits right at my hip which is exactly what I wanted. I've already gotten plenty of complements from this little bag. If you're looking for a cute, vintage-looking bag to carry your everyday necessities, this is it!
