A great value!
I absolutely love this bag. It is constructed well, quite spacious, and really quite beautiful. It looks great but more importantly it serves my needs perfectly. As a graduate student I needed something to carry my laptop and documents in addition to the occasional textbook or two. This bag fits everything very well and has extra pockets in front to keep my pens, cards, cell phone and other small items organized. I love that I can carry it comfortably over my shoulder or just in hand like a briefcase. It is appropriate for business and teaching related endeavors in addition to everyday school related usage.Being genuine leather, I imagine some wear will be obvious over time but I happen to appreciate a worn appearance.I should note that as a female, the color and size of the bag (I have the tan version), comes across as professional but not masculine. Terrific Bag at a terrific price!
My wife bought this for me as a gift when I graduated from college and prepared to begin grad school. It is a great looking bag, with several compartments for papers, laptop, books, pens, Kindle, and phone. The front compartments are secured with two straps, while the rear compartment is easily accessible by lifting the flap. Expands to accommodate extra files, books, etc. The leather (mine is dark brown) is thick and sturdy, and will no doubt soften and become more supple with years of use. It has a brown web strap to sling it over your shoulder (My only wish is that the strap was leather, but it's a very minor complaint) but I have to say if the bag is loaded with books it is pretty hard on your shoulder/back; I prefer to carry it with the handle when it's stuffed full. I feel very professional when I carry this bag and have gotten numerous compliments on it. I expect it will provide many years of use as I become one of those "seasoned" educators I so admire.

Beautiful, surprisingly small bag
This is a beautiful bag, as is true with most Kenneth Cole products. It wears very comfortably over my shoulder and stays out of the way as I walk. The look is absolutely awesome. But I was shocked at the small size of the bag. There are some small inside pockets, but the pockets aren't always enough. Considering all of the electronics and accessories that we carry today, this bag may not offer all of the space you require. If you're traveling light, though, this is the bag for you.

Beautiful and Useful
This messenger bag is very high quality made of beautiful brown leather that will look even better with age. The shoulder strap and handle combination make it easier to carry than shoulder strap only bags. The bag has great detail. It's a good size - not too small to handle all of the stuff you need to carry around and not so big that you hurt your back lugging around too much stuff. Lots of room for a laptop, lots of pockets, compartments and pouches to organize all of your paraphernalia. It's easy open and close. It is an excellent value for the price it was offered for at Amazon.

More than you could ask for in a messenger bag
When it comes to men and "bags", there is a fine line between something effective but also stylish in a masculine way. Kenneth Cole has achieved both. I had been searching for a messenger bag that would be effective without being bulky, stylish yet masculine, and also at a price that wasn't ridiculous. When I opened the package, the first impression stated it all. The bag is perfect in size and dimensions. Large enough to accommodate more than you realize, yet small enough not to be a bulky leather sack you have to lug around. The leather material (and YES it is leather and not something else like another review stated) is excellent in quality as well as thickness for a leather bag. The lining is smooth and padded appropriately where needed. The clasps are solid - and not hard at all to work. These are far better than a magnet holding things together. Final verdict - this is the perfect messenger bag. Well done Kenneth Cole! And Amazon for carrying such a high-quality product!

Everything you'd ever want in a leather messenger bag
I've been looking for a quality leather messenger bag for the past 6 months, and this bag fits the bill.I'm a visual person and so it was a big leap for me to buy this bag since there was only one picture of the bag. What tipped the scale for me was reading the reviews. Reading the reviews of people who have purchased a product is absolutely invaluable in making the right decisionOn to the product review:The bag is made of quality leather, and uses double stitching. The bag strap is long enough to accommodate a big person, and at about 1.5 inches wide it doesn't get twisted up. The picture doesn't do it justice
I was looking for a 'grown-up' messenger bag for interviews as well as my job and this bag doesn't disappoint. It seems extremely well made, has great stitching and a great style. It fits my 15" MacBook Pro perfectly in the separated, velcro'd pouch and has a lot of room in the other section for accessories and papers. I will have to see how it holds up to scarring and such, but initial impressions are very good.

A bag that fits!
So, I tested out several of the Kenneth Cole Reaction messenger bags for carrying my laptop (a 15.6" 16x9 Lenovo W520) to work and none of them seemed to fit my laptop... They were all just barely not long enough (or way too snug to carry anything else, like my charger, with the laptop). Finally, I found this bag. Even without expanding the bag, my laptop fits perfectly in the laptop pocket (thus leaving it more protected) along with my work binder (1") and charger, along with a few accessories (pens, wireless mouse, etc). I love this bag. It looks great. The buckle actually looks pretty good and although at first I was more interested in the bags that have the magnetic closures, this one actually ends up working better, looking better, and it's just as easy to open. The leather is well-made and the bag feels classy and professional.

Very nice bag for this price range
I needed a carrying bag for work and travel that would allow me to carry both my netbook, accessories, and work papers, notebooks, etc. I did not want a tacky vinyl or polyester bag that looked like a laptop case. The problem is that the really nice, leather messenger bags are in the $150-$250 range and I just didn't want to spend that much. This Kenneth Cole case turned out to be the best compromise. It has a classy, simple style accented by the brushed silver buckle. It is perfect for carrying a 10" netbook, which I have within it's own sleeve in the separate compartment in this messenger bag. There is still plenty of room (probably another 4-5 inches in width) for papers, notebooks, a portfolio, or whatever. That being said, this bag is probably not suitable for a student who needs to carry three thick hardcover textbooks and notebooks -- a backpack or bigger bag would be needed.
