Great (little) vintage canvas bag
The hot issue with this canvas bag seems to be size. I don't have any measuring tape on me, but from rough estimate 12x9(or10)x5. It's small. I'd compare it to the small dickies messenger bags also found on amazon. The one major plus of this bag is it's thickness. Mine usually has three or four thin traveling books, two steno pads, and one fairly thick book on Emily Dickenson. And still have room in the main compartment for misc thumbdrives, mp3 player, and blackberry. I have one of the dickies bags, and i could barely fit a couple steno pads before the thing appeared overfilled. It's perfect for daily use, if you don't carry a laptop or full size note pad. The construction has kept up with a couple months of hard abusive daily carrying and commuting.I suppose all the previous negetive reviews came from people expecting something bigger. Worth Every Nickel
It's a shame that the critical reviewers were commenting on a listing error in the bag dimensions rather than the bag itself -- which totally rocks. For $8 or so you can do a lot worse for a handy little day pack type shoulder bag you can throw a sketchbook, a couple of pens, an iPod, cell phone and wallet into and hit the galleries. The bags were meant for carrying ammunition in Iraq while being shot at so it's a fairly sturdy canvas construction with a nice tongue close hitch to keep the flap down & the weather out of your stuff.I wish there were internal pockets or maybe an extra zippered pouch, but it serves the purpose of an inexpensive little personal carrying solution when you don't need a whole backpack but would rather not stuff your pockets like some kind of a dork. It's got a cool urban military jib to it's cut too that's something more interesting than an anonymous Office Max commuter bag, which is what I was replacing. Love it
My daughter wanted this bag and bought it with her money and she loves it. Its a little bigger than it seems but that worked out great because she can fit everything she wants into it. Its smaller than a book bag yet is big enough to fit more than a purse can. Everybag is different since they are hand made which means you have your own one of a kind bag. The fabric is strong and has a nice inside fabric as well. Anyone who buys this should be very happy.

A unique, well made, one of a kind bag!
I have been looking for a bag like this one for quite a while. It reminds me of the ones I used to use as a teen. I like using items that are unique, one of a kind, and/or handmade. Things with character.From what I understand each of these bags are one of a kind, which made me excited to recieve one. I think they all follow the same kind of patchwork pattern, but the colors vary.The one I received (for x-mas), is really beautiful. The colors are vibrant without being ridiculous. The patterns are as shown in the picture. The bag is sturdy, well lined, with an interior pocket. It closes with a neat button.It is a deep bag that I use as my everyday bag, slung across a shoulder or as a crossbody. The bag hits on the hip (I am about 5'5/5'6, if you are shorter, it can easily be adjusted with a simple overhand knot), and it has plenty of room inside.A great bag for those with an eye for the unique and beautiful.

Great, though long
This bag is beautiful: the colours and stitching really pop. The quality is very obvious too, especially where strength and durability are concerned. Just what I've been looking for in a cross-body. I didn't realize the strap was so long, however. I'm 5'2" and the bag falls just above my knees. With as many knickknacks as I tend to carry, it makes walking with this awkward. Still, great bag, I only wish the strap had been made adjustable.

Great fit for a netbook!
This isn't a messenger bag. It won't hold things like full size documents or ring binder notebooks. But it's a great bag for smaller things.I did check to see if my netbook (approx. 10.5" x 7") would fit in the bag. It does, like it was made for it. And there's still room for a cell phone, pens, a few other accessories, and maybe a book or two.The adjustable shoulder strap is nice and long, but it isn't double stitched to the bag, only single stitched. I'll keep my eye on that, and maybe add another row of stitching or re-sew it if necessary.Since it is inexpensive, I didn't mind making an alteration soon after I got it. When the bag is fully packed and expanded, the flap won't reach the clasps. I made a couple of small cuts in the lining behind the male clasps so I could get to them, unbent the tabs, and relocated them about halfway up the front of the bag. Now the flap will clasp when the bag is fully stuffed.

Good bag all-around.
When I saw the bag on Amazon and read the reviews saying it was too small, I was still expecting a good-sized field bag. When I got it, it was actually a little bigger than I had imagined. It's about half the size of my standard messenger bag, and that was the size I wanted.People also complained a lot about the straps being a very plastic-y leather, and my hopes weren't high when I got my bag. But even with all the bad reviews on it, the straps on mine were very soft and easy to work with, so I don't see why people were complaining, unless the bag has been updated since the time of their purchase.All in all, I'm happy with my bag.

Good for a netbook.
Got this because I have a couple classes where all i need is my Netbook. Good thing that is the intended use, as not much else will fit in there.I can get my Toshiba NB205 with the 11 inch screen plus a couple of spiral bound notebooks and that's it.Will say good construction. Though it's small, it doesn't give off the "man-purse" vibe, but only because it has a mil-surp vibe.The closures are not snap, so I hardly use them.

I was honestly scared about getting this bag after some of the reviews...but I chose it because it sounded like what I wanted. I have had my bag for awhile now and can not believe how anyone wouldn't adore this bag. First of all, the color is beautiful. The classic olive, army green was portrayed stunningly with this bag. I have used it every day carrying TONS of books and my laptop. It has not put any weight or dug into my shoulder. It is definitely not too big, it is a normal messenger bag size. It doesn't have very many inside pockets which is fine for me because I don't like inside pockets. The water bottle holder is perfect. I have had a lot of messenger bags and this is the first one I have ever liked! Don't listen to any of the other reviews this product is the one you want!!!!!! Trust me!!!!! Great shoulder bag. Perfect for school
With this bag, i can carry one medium size text book, my 14' laptop and a notebook. It all fits perfectly. It even has a little zipper bag inside to put all your pens, pencils, keys, etc. I dont know what material it is made from but i can tell you it looks like its going to last a lot of time. I recommend this bag for those who need to carry a few things at a time. Remember also that if you overload the bag, your shoulder will start to hurt a big due to all the weight, so you must also take that into consideration.

A very large, heavy bag.
Verrrrry heavy canvas. It seems well made. It did not work out for what I had intended which was for my youngest daughter to carry some things to her college classes. A book or two and a laptop etc. It was way too big for her. I was surprised how big it was when it came even though I had measuered with a ruler before ordering. (I think the measurements are correct. It just looks bigger, to me, in person). But, my other daughter wanted it as her carry on when she flies instead of her backpack. She just took it on a flight and I haven't heard yet how it worked out.I ordered the khaki and thought it would look like the picture but it looked quite green to me. Maybe that's the way the khaki looks and the green one looks greener.It also doesn't look like the photo. The photo makes them look nicer. It's floppy and shapeless. The bags in the photo must have been stuffed in such a way to give them their shape.
